Job summary
We are looking to recruit a dynamic Specialist Radiologist to support our general and breast radiology service at East Cheshire NHS Trust. Innovation in the delivery of general imaging and breast imaging is a key requirement of this role.
The appointee will work with other colleagues to provide breast specialist and general radiology input at a senior level. They will support in providing timely diagnostic imaging and clinical decision making to support patient pathways such as the suspected cancer pathway, and work on reducing time to imaging / procedure and reporting to appropriate best practice / national standards. They will participate in on call rota with Consultant colleagues in Radiology to provide senior cover on a 1 in 10 basis.
The appointee will play a key role in providing a high quality, efficient, patient focussed general and breast radiology services.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Radiologist will provide senior expertise within general and breast radiology, and be able to manage the full range of presentations in their specific area of practice. An autonomous practice framework will be agreed along with this job description summary, which will outline the defined level of competency for the post holder in relation to independent and autonomous practice. A Consultant mentor will be provided for support.
The post holder will be responsible for adhering to the generic capabilities' framework outlined nationally for Specialists. Please refer to the Person Specification which details these competencies and how they should be evidenced.
In addition the post holder will be required to support the Consultant Radiologists within the department or undertake specialist clinics in general and breast, as well as teaching of junior doctors and medical students.

About us
NHS Medical and Dental salaries are set at a national level. For new starters not already working to UK Medical and Dental terms and conditions of service will be appointed to the minimum paypoint. The starting salary paypoint can only be increased when there is evidence of relevant, completed year's experience in terms of nature, type and level of role.
