Job summary
The Trust wishes to appoint a Substantive Orthopaedic consultant to accommodate demand in the sub specialty Soft Tissue Knee Surgery and Knee Arthroplasty. The appointee will join the present consultants, providing elective and trauma services.
The Humber Health Partnership provides services to the East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and acts as a tertiary referral centre for complex cases such as foot and ankle, spine, paediatrics, non-unions and pelvic injuries.
The Department seeks to attract consultants with a specialist interest in soft tissue knee surgery
This is a full time post with a basic job plan of 10Pas with the option to increase to 12PAs
This post is a replacement in the unit who provide arthroplasty and revision knee surgery.
The successful candidate would join the current on call rota of 1:7 and would contribute to the weekday office hour's trauma clinics and trauma theatre.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate would be comfortable to manage acute and chronic soft tissue knee conditions such as multi-ligament injuries, meniscal tears, isolated ligament injuries and patellofemoral instability. The successful candidate would also have an interest in the management and preservation of young adult knee degenerative conditions i.e. cartilage procedures and osteotomy.
Some of these cases are tertiary referrals from neighbouring NHS trust hospitals.
Main duties of the job
As a senior employee of the Trust the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support, other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality health care to the trusts patients.

- Eligibility to work in the UK.
