We are looking for an experienced, passionate sonographer to lead our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound service across Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG). Are you an experienced sonographer with an interest in MSK Ultrasound? Do you have advanced MSK ultrasound knowledge and skills, and are ready to to take the lead within this area of ultrasound? If so, we are keen for you to join the Ultrasound team at NLAG.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of MSK Cross Site Lead and work within the Humber Health Partnership (HHP), delivering MSK ultrasound services, training and education. Primarily this roll includes cross-site working over the NLAG sites, but there is an expectation to work closely with colleagues at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) with whom we are in partnership.
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for leading the MSK service across NLAG and setting up the interventional procedures pathway within this sub specialty. You will oversee the service, managing the patient referrals pathways, ensuring quality assurance and harmonised working within the HHP multidisciplinary team in the sphere of MSK. Alongside this you will have a blend of clinical and managerial responsibilities, being responsible for things like: service improvements, policy development, team management, audit, training and development.
Main duties of the job
Working across-site your responsibilities would encompass developing, delivering and enhancing the MSK and associated Interventional Ultrasound Service:

Upholding safe, effective service delivery within MSK Ultrasound, working closely with Service / Clinical Leads across-site to support this.

Undertaking a wide variety of MSK ultrasound examinations, ensuring best clinical practice is upheld, alongside optimal diagnostic imaging.

You will have a shared level of responsibility for all aspects of the NLAG Ultrasound service with the other Sonography Clinical Leads.

You will act as the NLAG MSK lead, ensuring adherence to standards, providing feedback and support, monitoring departmental quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with national standards and guidelines.

You will lead multidisciplinary image review sessions, liaising with Imaging Leads on quality improvement and training outcomes.

You will supervise and support training of staff within the sphere of MSK ultrasound.

You will manage clinical governance, incident reporting and service audit, to uphold imaging quality and patient safety.

You will coordinate departmental resources.

You will represent the service at Trust meetings, contributing to strategic planning and service improvement.

You will assist in oversee staffing, sickness, appraisals, recruitment, and performance monitoring.
