Job summary

Due to maternity leave, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 secondment on Ward B2 - Gastro.

Ward B2 is an acute gastroenterology ward, also caring for surgical patients. The Ward has 5 Bays and 4 en-suite cubicles for patients requiring isolation nursing.

The role with provide an opportunity to widen your clinical skills and clinical knowledge through close working with the MDT team and Specialist Nurses. The role will also provide an excellent opportunity to develop your Training and leadership skills including people management and ensuring and maintaining high standards of patient care.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, organised and dynamic individual, interested in developing their leadership skills supporting the Ward Manager and team on the Ward.

An ability to ensure clinical expertise, co-ordinate safe, effective and high quality care. The successful individual will be fully supported within the role, relevant to their individual needs and previous experience.

The successful individual will be expected to work closely with the Ward Manager, and Deputy Ward Manager providing clinical leadership, support, training and supervision to the team. Ensuring standards of care, patient safety and safe practice are maintained at all times.

The successful individual will be expected to develop knowledge and skills in clinical governance. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and acting within expected professional standards at all times is essential.
