Clinical Pharmacist (Band 6 or Band 7) - Scunthorpe

Job summary

This is a dynamic role that will allow successful applicant to strengthen their clinical knowledge and expertise, whilst also enhancing their consultation and assessment skills. Additionally you will also be able to develop your negotiation, influencing, leadership and management skills. In doing so, you will be required to:

Counsel patients and carers to ensure that they have the correct information and understanding to make informed decisions about their pharmaceutical care and to take their medication in a way the give most benefit.

Will support and supervise (as part of a multidisciplinary team), in the development and implementation of local guidelines and policies within assigned clinical area.

Support with coaching, mentoring of undergraduates, trainee pharmacists and technicians.

Undertakes /assists in all pharmaceutical aspects of research.

Contribute with clinical audits and support with the implementation of recommendations withinarea of clinical rotation.

Utilise prescribing skills effectively to enhance patient care and patient safety or be willing to undertake the prescribing course.

You will be supported through a 4-week structured induction process. Applicants from community will have a 3-month supported induction process.

Main duties of the job

Provide professional and clinical input as a member of a team of pharmacy staff involved in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services, undertaking a wide of variety of duties.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of medicines use by inputting to clinical governance, Medicines Optimisation and risk reduction activities.

Participate in clinical audit and practice development activities.

There will be an expectation for successful candidates to complete continuous professional development aligned with the RPS Foundation Pharmacist Pathway and to complete post-qualification training as required.

Successful candidate will support with 7 day working and emergency duty commitment. Candidate will be expected to fulfil 1 in 6 weeks weekend working and oncall duties.
