Job summary
Digestive Diseases is seeking to appoint 2 Specialist Doctors within Gastroenterology, The role would suit a Specialist grade doctor who has at least four years of post graduate training of which 2 should be within Gastroenterology. The posts work closely with the consultant workforce and successful applicants who wish to pursue a consultant role after completion of CESR for Specialist Register will be supported. The role will involve participation in a consultant of the week model on the Gastroenterology inpatient ward, alongside provision of therapeutic endoscopy (upper and lower), outpatient services, and pursuant of a specialist interest in a subspecialty of Gastroenterology
Main duties of the job
Duties include but are not limited to
- Senior decision maker on inpatient ward
- Responsible for supervision of specialist registrars and doctors in training
- Therapeutic Endoscopies (upper and lower)
- Provision of outpatient clinics
- Advice and Guidance to primary care
- Some in-reach to other services
- On call commitment
- Audit and Research
- Sub specialty expertise
