Ophthalmic Imaging Technician

Job summary

The Ophthalmic Imaging Technician will deliver a needs led ophthalmology imaging service for adults and children. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary Departmental team to provide high quality diagnostic images across a variety of ophthalmic sub-specialties within the Community Imaging Hub and Acute Hospital setting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will effectively utilize their ophthalmic imaging knowledge, skills and experience to competently manage a clinic list of patients without direct supervision, prioritizing when necessary and accommodating urgent referrals as appropriate under the direction of Clinicians and Registered Nurses.

The post holder will also assist Registered Nurses and Clinicians in the assessment, preparation and delivery of care to patients undergoing ophthalmic examinations and minor procedures
