Job summary
The post holder will work as a leader within the Community Neuro team in North lincs. They will lead a small team of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff in provision of rehabilitation, for neurological patients known to the rehabilitation medicine team and for stroke patients on the pathway.
This post is an exciting opportunity to provide a high standard of rehabilitation, undertaking all aspects of clinical duties both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a specialist team. In this role there is an opportunity to support individuals to reach their maximum potential and to support them to maintain quality of life in the community as part of a wider MDT.
The post holder will have responsibility for reporting to Senior Managers and commissioners on aspects of service delivery, including capacity and demand. They will also be responsible for liaising with other colleagues at a Band 7 level to triangulate information and provide appropriate input into national audits including the ssnap.
This post could be suitable for an experienced occupational therapist or experienced physiotherapist. They will have experience of neurological rehabilitation and be able to mange an integrated team of occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
There will be an expectation to participate in the respiratory on call rota if the successful candidate is a physiotherapist by discipline.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the Team lead for Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and therapy support staff working in Community neuro team NL.
The post would also include the advanced management of patients with diverse presentations and a wide variety of complex conditions. Using highly specialist clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practice and develop and deliver treatment programmes.
The post holder will be responsible for managing their own caseload and coordinating the supervision, education and assessment of students, assistants and junior therapists in their area. They will provide specialist advice to other health care professionals in this specific clinical area.
To participate in the planning, development, maintenance and evaluation of the community therapy service contributing to the strategic planning and informing the Manager of any developments, needs etc.
Practice autonomously demonstrating expert problem solving and clinical decision-making skills while demonstrating professional accountability and responsibility
Be a role model for the wider team by promoting a positive research culture
Identify, promote and embed evidence and identify impact measures using findings to enhance future activity
Identify and support the achievement of learning needs of individuals/team in response to service need and personal development planning.
