We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our well-established team of dedicated critical care staff on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate should be able to interact with staff and colleagues at all levels, ensuring that the Trust's objectives on nursing and practice are fully embedded.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to appoint a Level 1 Registered Nurse with an interest in critical care nursing to become part of the Critical Care team. The successful candidate must be willing to work towards the relevant post grad courses required . They will need to have excellent communication and leadership skills with a working knowledge of IT. They should be able to demonstrate evidence of continued professional development, be enthusiastic and a motivated team player. They will be confident, display a passion for providing a high standard of nursing and have the ability to be a role model.

As a Staff Nurse working within Critical Care, the expectation is that, with adequate training, supervision and assessment, you will be able to;
Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate the nursing care of patients within Critical Care who present with complex medical and nursing care needs
Deliver safe care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, using highly specialised equipment and resources safely and appropriately
Administer medications, including multiple continuous infusions, within the Procedure for the Ordering, Prescribing, and Administration of Medications
Disseminate contentious and delicate information appropriately and sensitively, ensure patient confidentiality is maintained
Participate in mentorship and educational programmes for students and other members of the team
Adhere to Trust policies and procedures and work in a manner to promote the Trust values and core objectives
Work within the NMC code of conduct to include the responsible supervision of staff and students when required
Utilise the Hospital computer systems such as the intranet, web V, EPMA.
Maintain clear and accurate written records relevant to practice
Be able to work under pressure
Be pro-active and take initiative
If you are new to critical care nursing or are deemed to have insufficient or out of date critical care experience, you will be expected to complete the critical care step one competencies.
