Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 4 Orthopaedic Plaster Technician with excellent communication skills to work as part of the Plaster Room team.

This is a 30 hour post working in the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department.

The post holder is responsible for administering efficient casting procedures for inpatient, outpatient and emergency patients throughout the Trust. Ensuring that patient care and patient safety are maintained at all times.

Main duties of the job

Outpatients is a diverse, multidisciplinary environment which requires flexible and adaptable skills, an aptitude to learn and a motivation to develop your own skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing individual patient care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating plans of care in accordance with agreed policies and professional guidelines and providing a plastering service for the orthopaedic ward, clinics, theatres, fracture clinics and Emergency department.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to give high quality care and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You will consistently ensure that a patient's privacy, dignity and psychological well-being is maintained, and at all times, the care given is patient centred.

The post holder will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We require individuals who are forward thinking, well organised and with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
