Job summary
An Estates Maintenance Craftsperson plays a key role in the Estates Engineering Maintenance Services. The individual will support the Estates Officers and maintenance team in the delivery of maintenance programmes that will contribute to the Trusts objectives been carried out in a safe, cost effective, efficient manner and compliant with legislation, Health Technical Memorandums (HTM) and good practice.
The post holder will undertake works relating to the maintenance and repairs of Trust properties, equipment, grounds & gardens ensuring compliance with Statutory requirements, HTM's, Trust Policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe and functional environment for patients, public and staff to support the delivery of patient care.
Main duties of the job
The post is site-based but you may be required to work on other Trust sites as necessary.
The post holder will;
- Be a member of a small group of technical staff who manage and operate complex technical systems and processes across the Trust, ensuring compliance with Trust standard operating procedures, policies and procedures and legislation.
- Will be appointed to named competent roles in keeping with requirements laid down in Hospital Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health and Safety documentation.
- Will support the Team Leader with the implementation of planned, reactive and routine maintenance.
- Will be responsible for the implementation and sign off of documentation along with the responsibility of asset management and technical support for the Estate across all trades according to competence and skill level and allocation from the Team Leader and Estates Managers.
- Will complete data entry into paper and electronic systems (e.g. the completion of all job dockets, asset management details, time sheets and stock sheets).
- Will participate in an " On call " rota
- Have a good general education and general experience of all engineering trades and will undertake on the job training or other training away from the place of work as dictated by the requirements of the role.

- oONC / HNC or equivalent level 5 apprenticeship Diploma in plumbing/mechanical engineering or willing to work towards
- oRelevant demonstrable experience in Plumbing, heating or mechanical or electrical engineering commensurate with the requirements of the role
- oA level 3 Leadership qualification or willing to work towards
- oLevel 2 English & Maths or effective standard of spoken English and use of mathematics.
- oA recognised form of computer skills training for Spreadsheets/ databases or ability to demonstrate effective use of programmes
