Job summary
Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust is looking to a recruit a Senior Dental Officer (Band B post) in 3 days per week 22.5 hours to work primarily with adult patients with additional needs.
The post holder will work with the Community Dental Service Team delivering dental care and advice to patients attending the Community Dental Service, to provide examinations, diagnoses, treatment planning and care management for a range of patients to the expected competency level of a Band B dentist.
To support the senior management team and undertake some managerial roles as appropriate.
Applicants should have full registration with the GDC, a performer number and experience in providing care to patients with additional and complex needs

Main duties of the job
To provide high quality oral health care to patients with additional needs, including those with learning disabilities, severe mental health issues, compromising medical problems, physical disabilities and those who require to be seen in a domiciliary setting. Facilities are also available to provide care with conscious sedation. The main emphasis of this job is adult special care dentistry
The Senior Dental Officer will, together with the Specialist in Special Care Dentistry ensure that special care dental care across the service is delivered to a high standard, as set out by Service Specifications .

Essential
- Fully registered with General Dental Council as a dentist
- Has experience in providing care for children with complex needs
- Experience of dental care in a primary care setting
- Good knowledge of evidence based practice in relation to clinical dentistry and the promotion of oral health
- Has the experience to be able to demonstrate the competencies of a Band B Salaried Dentist and as outlined in the job description Up to date with CPD

- A relevant postgraduate qualification in paediatric dentistry, special care dentistry or conscious sedation
