Job summary
Due to a restructure of our Site Management Team we are looking for senior nurses to join our team as Site Matrons. These posts are available as either a substantive post or as a 12 month secondment development opportunity.
The Site Matron role is pivotal to the effective and safe operational running of our hospitals with a focus on patient safety and experience. You will need to have plenty of drive in pursuing high quality patient care and thrive on a challenge.
The purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate the hospital site including the clinical and operational patient flow from admission to discharge through Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals. This role is central for optimising patient flow, facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that high quality patient care is delivered. This will include both emergency and elective flows, ensuring a strong oversight 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The newly appointed Site Matron will need proven leadership skills, and the ability to show initiative and willingness to work in an innovative manner. An individual development plan will support new post holders to develop their senior operational management knowledge and skills.

Main duties of the job
You will be a 1stlevel Registered Nurse or Registered Allied Health Professional with significant experience of site management or equivalent senior level management along with an in-depth knowledge of policies relating to the assessment and discharge process as you will be a source of advice and guidance to colleagues. You will be an expert resource for patient flow ensuring the hospital's capacity is used as efficiently as possible and reducing in-patient length of stay.
This is a new role requiring a visible and credible leader who will be focused on the quality of the patient experience through delivery of high quality, safe and effective care. Reporting to the Associate Director of Central Operations and professionally to the Associate Chief Nurse of Central Operations, the post holder will ensure the key functions of the role are undertaken across the Trust. The post holder will work with operational managers, nursing teams and clinicians across the site to ensure effective delivery of patient pathways and ensure effective site management aligned to the Trust escalation and surge processes.
