Job summary
This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the University Hospital of North Midland's clinical pharmacy service to Paediatrics, Neonates and Maternity.
You will lead an amazing team of Advanced Specialist and Foundation Pharmacists providing services to Paediatrics, Neonates and Maternity and will be supported to reach your full potential.
We are passionate about investing in the training and development of our pharmacy staff and have a fully established Pharmacy Education and Training Team.
Main duties of the job
Be a visible pharmacy leader and role model with the accountabilityand responsibility for the provision and development of safe and cost-effective pharmacy services to the Women and Children's Clinical Business Unit.
Lead a team of highly skilled pharmacists working to deliver cutting edge pharmacy services.
Support the further develop of the clinical pharmacy workforce including the role of Medicines Management Technicians and Medicines Management Assistants.
Develop a strategic plan for the operational delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the Women and Children's Clinical Business Unit, supporting a positive patient experience, the medicines optimisation agenda and continuous improvement.

- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma / MSc or equivalent qualification.

- Formal Leadership or Management Qualification

- Extensive post-registration experience
- Recent and extensive experience working as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist in an acute Hospital setting
- Experience working in Paediatrics, Neonates and Maternity
- Advanced knowledge in Paediatric and/or Neonatal and/or Maternity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good understanding of current hospital pharmacy practice and the NHS and their potential impact on clinical pharmacy services

- Previous experience of delivering research individually or as part of an MDT
- Experience of clinical leadership at a national level
- Demonstrates authorship of primary evidence in a peer reviewed journal
