Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within elective orthopaedics at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.
You will be a Registered Nurse with an excellent track record of success in leading a team. You will be passionate about patient care and have the foresight and ability to facilitate and sustain change.
You will be an experienced band 6 or existing band 7 nurse with leadership experience and experience within elective orthopaedics or trauma and orthopaedics.
You will have evidence of degree level study and recent study development and will be willing to undertake further study to facilitate development in your role. You will require at least 3 years post registration experience at band 6 level and will have current experience caring for orthopaedic patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to liaise with the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse at our County Hospital site in Stafford, to ensure care and processes are aligned within elective orthopaedics across the UHNM.
Alongside Matron, the post holder will be expected to develop good working relationships the Directorate team and Consultant body, to support the delivery of the elective recovery programme, contribute to change and service development and ensure sustainability
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the ward whilst maintaining high quality care and managing competing priorities.
