Specialist BMS in Biochemistry preferred but willing to receive applications from Registered BMS's.

Essential

  • Previous experience of working in a NHS Laboratory environment
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of Biochemistry techniques
  • Experience of working in a team and alone
  • Experience of working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); contributing to their review and implementation
  • Communicate effectively and accurately, face to face, written, and by phone with colleagues and users of the service

Desirable

  • Ability to plan and manage individual daily workload and prioritise in response to service need
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of quality systems with reference to UKAS
  • Be able to supervise trainee and support grade staff

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or equivalent
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

  • Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) Specialist Diploma in Biochemistry or equivalent
