Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Consultant Radiographer to join our team at UHNM. This is an exciting opportunity for an expert advanced practitioner to lead, influence and advance high quality radiography practice. In addition, the successful applicant will ensure that all four pillars of practice are maintained.
The post holder must have experience in advanced clinical practice and posses the ability to ensure that the interactions with the key services supports a progression to improved methods of working.
The post holder must be HCPC registered with a minimum of 3 years advanced practice experience.
Main duties of the job
There are four key aspects to this role:
- Expert clinical practice
- Professional leadership and consultancy
- Education, training and development
- Practice and service development, research and evaluation.
The post-holder will possess the BSc in Radiography, or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years Advanced Practitioner experience. They will be HCPC registered and hold Post Graduate Certificates for the full range of general radiography reporting. In addition they will possess, or be studying for, a post-graduate qualification in Advanced Practice at Masters level.
The post-holder will provide expert practice in their field of image reporting and be competent in contributing and leading MDT discussions. They will exercise a high degree of professional and personal autonomy, acting as a consultant practitioner, demonstrating advanced clinical competence, decision making and a knowledge base beyond those associated with conventional Advanced Practitioner roles, there by acting as an expert in their field.
The candidate must be able to self-motivate, and have excellent organisational skills and possess the ability to motivate a team of Advanced Practitioners, and work collaboratively with the Consultant Radiographers, Service Managers and Team leaders within the Imaging department.
