Job summary

We currently have a vacancy providing an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Senior Staff Nurse for Clinical to join the leadership team within Cardiothoracic Surgery Ward 223. You will be running the ward independently during clinical shifts by utilising your clinical skills, professional leadership and management skills to deliver quality, patients' safety and service delivery of the cardiothoracic surgery.

You will also be managing a group of staff for appraisal (PDR) and ESR training etc. You will also work closely with Ward Manager and Deputy Ward manager with quality improvement and safety of the Ward, which will also involve Tendable audit, formulating action plan, implementing and evaluating of the action plan. You will also be expected to investigate datix and PSIRF.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work as a Senior Staff Nurse for Clinical within an established multi-disciplinary team delivering, monitoring and evaluating of the patients care, whist participating in leadership and clinical management of the ward by providing quality, safety and service delivery. The successful candidate will also support with preceptorship with newly qualified RN with their professional development.
