Job summary
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. Working as part of the Trust's Financial Services team the role is based in the Cashiers Office and responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Cashiers function.
Being responsible for the control & recording of all monies / valuables brought to the Cashiers Office and paying out monies / valuables ensuring a high level of customer service is delivered at all times. Ensuring Standing Financial Instructions, best accounting practice and other statutory legislation is adhered to.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure the efficient daily running of the Cashiers Office
- Responsible for receiving and recording monies from around the Trust. Taking and processing card payments either in person or via the telephone.
- Responsible for reconciling and preparing all income for banking and collection by the courier company.
- Responsible for the receipt and safekeeping of patient's monies and valuables and lost property (valuables) and returning the property to the appropriate individual.
- Payment of patient travelling expenses in line with the Healthcare Travel Costs guidelines.
- Handling petty cash reimbursements.
- Deal with enquiries from patients, relatives, member of the public and Trust staff by telephone or in person.
- There will be an element of lone working and the post holder on occasions will need to make informed decisions regarding reimbursement of travelling expenses.
