Job summary
As part of the transport team the post holder will provide an efficient and effective customer focused distribution service, engaging with clinical staff as well as the general public. Right first time and every time to all contracts including ,wards, patients, departments and areas within the University Hospital of North Staffordshire (NHS) Trust plus country wide sample runs (i.e Birmingham, London Sheffield etc). Transporting staff and equipment to different areas in and around UHNM sites.
This is achieved by working an agreed 17 week rotas with varying rotas between the hours of 6am-9pm including covering bank holidays and weekends, which can change due to departmental changes (eg covering sickness and annual leave). The post requires the individual to be flexible and motivated and able to work to clearly defined achievable, individual and team goals and any other duties to complete the tasks required of the Trust.
Main duties of the job
You will be placed on a 17 week Rota, mainly Monday - Friday working within the hours of 6am-9pm. You will be required to drive a range of vehicles from Electric cars-vans up to larger 3.5 tonne Lutons. we travel mainly around the royal and County sites delivering and collecting stock, samples, notes and small objects also moving up to larger items i.e. beds cages full of stock etc. We also travel nationally across the UK collecting stock and samples and move staff around the local area.
