Job summary

To cover a period of maternity leave, we are looking for a enthusiastic dietitian who wishes to further develop their skills whilst working within the specialities of Oncology and the Home Enteral Feeding team, whilst supporting:

  • all dietetic aspects of oncology and haematology care including inpatient and outpatient areas who are under the care of UHNM Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • a caseload for Home Enterally fed patients, in nursing homes as part of UHNM Nutrition and Dietetics.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver dietetic services to oncology/haematology patients, using a wide range of appropriate and sensitive communication skills and counselling, and behaviour change techniques.
  • To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing dietetic input to patients with cancer and support a range of adult patients requiring Home enteral Feeding.
  • To liaise with other disciplines and agencies as required in the planning and implementation of patient care.
  • To educate patients and their relatives / carers about their condition and its significance and ensure that care information and support is available.

  • Health Care Professions Council registration

  • Member of British Dietetic Association (BDA)

  • Demonstrate relevant work experience within Oncology
