Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Ward 117 Infectious Diseases at the Royal Stoke University Hospital as a Junior Sister/Deputy Ward Manager.

Ward 117 is a 14 bedded Infectious Diseases Unit that provided inpatient care for patients suffering from a range of infections including, TB, meningitis, malaria, sepsis.

It is a small friendly team that prides itself on providing excellent care. The Junior Sister/Deputy Ward Manager role is pivotal to the leadership of this team.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role will be to work as an integral part of the leadership team on the ward working collaboratively with the Senior Sister and other members of the leadership team to ensure the both the efficient running of the unit and ensuring that KPI's and Trust objectives and values are achieved.

These duties will include but are not limited to: sickness and absence management, appraisal and performance reviews, providing an in-reach service, resource management, recruitment and interviewing, audits, action planning, quality improvement, risk management, roster management, coordination, maintenance of quality and standards, effective communication and clinical care and expertise in the area of Infectious Diseases.
