Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. Band 4 - ARIA MedOncology Administrator and Pharmacy Clinical Trials Officer

Electronic prescribing is well established across both Paediatric (ChemoCare) and Adult (ARIA) Cancer Services. You will support the pharmacy and cancer directorates in the on-going administration of the adult chemotherapy electronic ARIA prescribing system.

Working with the Advanced Specialist Pharmacist for cancer and electronic prescribing you will maintain and update the SACT regimens to ensure current protocols are available for safe prescribing in line with national and local guidelines.

Main duties of the job

This post is split between two elements: EPMA Administrator and Pharmacy Clinical Trials

You will work for Oncology and Haematology Directorate and Pharmacy Cancer teams under the management of the Lead Electronic Prescribing Pharmacist. The role is across both Royal Stoke and County sites.

Create, update and maintain the electronic protocols embedded in the Aria system.

Manipulate data pulled from ARIA to ensure it is complete and accurate before submitting monthly to SACT dataset NHS-E.

Attend meetings to present data on workload, regimen usage, number of new patients etc.

Dispense clinical trial drugs in line with current GCP guidance.

Ensure sufficient stock of clinical trial agents is available

Maintain clinical trial site files.

  • Knowledge and experience of pharmacy hospital electronic systems, e.g. MedOncology, Ascribe
  • Ability to read and understand SOP's
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training and apply this training to working practices.
  • Excellent grasp of basic IT skills and able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to a reasonably high standard.
  • Excellent grasp of basic IT skills and able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to a reasonably high standard.
  • Ability to investigate queries, taking action if appropriate.
  • Ability to realise when it is necessary to liaise with senior staff
