Job summary
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. The post holder will be required to perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks within Pathology and also in clinical areas following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including the Pathology Quality Policy, to provide clerical and technical support to Biomedical Scientists in order to ensure a high quality service in all areas of Point of Care Testing (POCT).
Main duties of the job
The tasks will include; sample receipt and preparation, operation and maintenance of POCT equipment and updating of information systems.
To work within written Policies and Procedures, especially in relation to Health and Safety and Quality.
To undertake reception duties as and when required.
To offer support and guidance to Pathology Support Workers
To be an efficient and flexible member of the POCT team assisting in the delivery of the service.

- Good standard of Education demonstrated by GCSE grades A-C in Maths, English and a Science subject.
- Relevant NVQ level 2 or equivalent. A suitable Apprenticeship such as Clinical Laboratory Support. The IBMS Certificate of Achievement.
