Job summary
The University Hospitals of North Midlands is looking to recruit a Trainee Estates Team Leader (Engineering) trained to City & Guilds Craft Level or equivalent in electrical/mechanical engineering on a permanent basis. You will be keen and enthusiastic working with a skilled team to assist in the provision of a high level of service to a large acute hospital. Knowledge and experience of working within an engineering maintenance team is essential and Team Leader/Supervisor experience is desirable but not essential.
Main duties of the job
You will be entered onto a training program in order to obtain the skills, knowledge and experience required to lead a team, job planning & allocation, CAFM systems, time management, staff appraisals/PDR'S and fulfil the job description and person specification of an Estates Team Leader. It is essential that you are an effective team worker with the ability to provide support to other managers & colleagues within the Estates Department. The role also requires 50% of your time assisting in the maintenance and repair to the various engineering systems on the hospital site. You will be stationed at County Hospital working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm) but must be flexible when required. You may be required to work at other sites belonging to or serviced by the UHNM and take part in an on-call system.
Candidates will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and experience via an interview process and will be able to earn up to £30,162 (band 4) during training. Once the training has been successfully completed the salary is £31,049 rising to £37,796 (band 5) plus an R&R premium.
