Job summary
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. If you are shortlisted for an interview for this role, you must bring evidence of the following qualifications:
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.
If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for you GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate
- A Full Care CertificateORNVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ's from a regulated awarding body).
If you do not bring the above qualifications to your interview, then the interview will not proceed.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Clinical Support Worker has a breadth of knowledge across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care and support to patients in the Acute Stroke services at Royal Stoke Hospital. The Senior Clinical Support Worker works independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses.
The Senior Clinical Support Worker should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. S/he will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
They will be able to display the skills required to work in the TIA clinic. Coordinating care for clinic patients alongside the wider MDT.
Senior Clinical Support Workers contribute to the health and well-being of patients, staff and service users, integral to all of this is the ability to communicate effectively with sensitivity, compassion and to manage relationships with people.
