A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist for Antimicrobials and Critical Care at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM). We are looking for an experienced clinical pharmacist to deliver and lead a high quality and patient-focused clinical pharmacy service to the infectious diseases and adult critical care specialties. We have a 14 bed specialist infectious diseases unit and a 66 bed adult ITU unit.
Main duties of the job
To be considered you will need to be able to proactively engage with clinicians and the wider specialty multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality medicines optimisation, governance and safety initiatives; supporting patient flow for both in-patient and out-patient areas, while working effectively as a key member of the team in these dynamic clinical specialties.
Working closely with clinicians, nursing staff and the directorate management team, you will ensure the delivery of evidence-based, safe, cost-effective pharmaceutical care to patients treated within the specialty, whether as inpatients or as outpatients. You will work closely with a team of rotational pharmacists and medicines management technicians to lead the clinical pharmacy service to the inpatient ID ward and to the Critical Care unit. In addition, you will contribute to the strategic development of the clinical pharmacy service provided to the relevant divisions by supporting the Advanced Clinical Lead Pharmacists and the Deputy Chief Pharmacist - Clinical services and the Clinical Director of Pharmacy.
The Pharmacy Directorate is a friendly, enthusiastic and committed team and you would be joining us at an exciting time.
