An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and reliable individual to join our forward-thinking team here within Surgery at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. We currently have a vacancy within the combined Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) and Surgical Same Day Emergency Care (SSDEC). Both departments provide emergency unplanned care for General Surgical, Vascular, Urological, ENT, Plastics, Max-Fax and Gynecological patients either via the ambulatory department or the inpatient area. SAU/SSDEC are dynamic clinical areas that thrive on the daily challenges faced by emergency care. Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Senior Ward Sister in the everyday operational running of SAU and SSDEC. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain operational responsibility for SAU and SSDEC in the absence of the senior Ward Sister.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for health and well-being of all junior staff on duty in the absence of the senior ward sister.
