Job summary
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and highly-motivated exercise practitioner. You must have an interest in Cardiac Rehabilitation and prior experience of patients managing long term conditions in a gym environment. Experience of exercise prescription and the provision of individual or group patient education sessions on lifestyle, health and well-being related topics would also be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
- Conducting clinical screening and exercise assessments for individuals with cardiac disease and related comorbidities.
- Supervision of patients during the exercise component of the cardiac rehabilitation programme.
- Monitoring, recording and progressing patients' exercise programmes in accordance with agreed guidelines, protocols and treatment regime.
- Supporting the senior exercise staff to ensure that the exercise component of the cardiac rehabilitation programme rehabilitation is clinically effective and high quality.
- Preparing and delivering holistic health promotion and patient education for individuals attending cardiac rehabilitation and their carers.
- Providing advice to patients and carers in a variety of settings.
- Participate in local service audit, evaluation and research.
