Job summary
The Lung Cancer Screening Clinical Lead Nurse has delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical area including assessments for Lung Cancer Screening, managing and running of the Lung Cancer Screening MDT, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards for the department against the National Framework. The role will lead on the National role out of the Lung Cancer Screening programme strategy, policy and Standard protocol / Quality Assurance Governance Frameworks
Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver expert clinical care at an enhanced level and use their experience to teach, train and support the band 6 and 4 clinical teams regrading Lung Cancer Screening. They will assess, manage, deliver care, advise on and support patients through management of the MDT to deliver cancer waiting times targets and pathway communication through a multi organisational approach. The role will support patients throughout Staffordshire in a face to face approach to screening on our mobile unit which rotates around the county.The role is responsible and accountable for the Clinical Governance of the department, an essential element of the accreditation of the screening programme.National Meeting attendance is required and linking with the Responsible Assessor for the programme on a monthly basis with evidenced assurance is required. The Clinical Lead Nurse will act as a credible and professional role model and encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential.Development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards for the department against the National Framework.
