Band 6 - Lead Pharmacy Production Officer - Technical Services, Systemic Anti-cancer Therapy (SACT)

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Pharmacy Production Specialist to join our well-established team in Technical Services. As a department we constantly strive to re-engineer our services to improve our delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and customer satisfaction.

The MHRA licenced 'Specials' pharmacy manufacturing unit is based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and is a modern purpose built unit within the hospital. The service encompasses aseptic, chemotherapy, over labelling and re-packaging products, supplying both the Trust and external organisations.

As part of our senior team you will be expected to have recent relevant experience of working in a Pharmacy aseptic unit.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work within the Aseptic and Chemotherapy unit managing our SACT service alongside the Production Managers in line with GMP. You will be expected to organise, prioritise and co-ordinate the workflow within the unit, liaising with the pharmacy clinical teams when needed.

In addition, the post holder will be required to assist with the operation and maintenance of quality management systems ensuring compliance with the terms of the MHRA Manufacturing "Specials" Licence regarding all compounding and manufacturing processes.

To achieve this, you will need excellent organisational, communication and digital skills with a high degree of attention to detail and you will need to be able to work effectively within a team.

Within the department we have an excellent relationship with other key professionals in order to maximise efficiency of the services provided.

You will be supported in this role by an experienced team and actively encouraged to enrol on courses and study days to further your personal development. You will promote the service at Trust, Regional and National forums including posters at conferences and support wider projects and business development opportunities.

This is a great time to be a part of the Pharmacy Technical Services Team at UHNM.
