To provide senior medical leadership in the Acute Medicine Department at Stafford Hospital, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all categories of patients and the proper functioning of the Department.
The post holder will gain a wide range of experience in all aspects of work within the Acute Medicine Department. They will be expected to work as a middle grade doctor covering all clinical areas of the Department. There will always be a consultant available for advice/supervisionParticipation in out of hours / on call work is expected and will be re numerated according to the terms and conditions set out in this contract

Essential
- MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC Registration via the PLAB test or MTI route (AoMRC) or completed all parts (1, 2 & PACES) of the Federation of Royal College of Physicians MRCP (UK) examinations with IELTS (UKVI Academic) requirements of GMC if relevant and EPIC verification of qualifications for international doctors depending on primary medical
- MRCP Part 1
Desirable
- Awards/distinctions whilst studying for 1st degree
- Academic and extracurricular achievements
- Completed all parts of the MRCP (UK) or equivalent
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Foundation competencies or equivalent for those with full GMC registration
- 3 years continuous post-qualification experience in the relevant specialty meeting the pre-requisites of the Medical Training Initiative programme of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
- 6 months middle grade experience in General and Acute Medicine
- Competent doing lumbar punctures and ascitic drains
- ALS
Desirable
- Presented evidence of experience to date supported by references
- Attainment of the UK Foundation Programme or an equivalent level of experience.
- Senior Fellows will have appropriate skills & experience to demonstrate in the chosen specialty minimum equivalent to ST3.
- Competent in placing chest drains and central venous lines
