Job summary

We are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity of a permanent full time role with the Kidney Care Nursing Team. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Kidney Care Nurse to join our specialist renal team to work with patients across the kidney care journey.

This is a 37.5 hours per week, full time post.

Previous renal experience essential. Training will be provided.

The Kidney Care Nursing Team at UHNM are responsible for educating renal patients and families about their Chronic Kidney Disease treatment options through organised education sessions and on a one to one basis, monitoring their renal anaemia, participating in advanced kidney care clinics and hepatitis b vaccination programme. We work closely with our Home Therapies team, Renal Transplant team and our specialist consultants across the Royal Stoke, County Hospital and Leighton Hospital.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills and be dedicated to improving the patient's experience.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities.

The role of the Kidney care CNS is to be clinically creditable in the delivery of general and specialist services that are delivered within the CKD Team.

The Kidney Care CNS will work closely with the senior Sister in the delivery of evidence based practice; ensuring the patients receive safe and effective patient care to meet the Directorate and trust safety agenda and matching patient and family expectations.
