Job summary
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Support Medical Secretary to join our team as a Cardiology Medical Support Secretary within the Heart Centre.
You will work alongside the existing administrative team to provide comprehensive and efficient secretarial support to our Consultant Secretaries, Consultants, Specialist Nurses and other Clinicians within the team.
You will need to be a highly motivated and flexible team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise your own workload is essential. We are looking for an experience secretary with high standards and an eye for detail. You must have the ability to multi-task and work in a busy, ever changing environment.
Medical Secretarial experience would be desirable, be able to work on your own initiative with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
A requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers, requiring tact and diplomacy. The post holder will be expected to deal with queries from anxious patients and carers.
Responsibility for handing telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement to assess each situation and to deal with accordingly.
To deliver a high standard of typing and ensure actions details are dealt with accordingly.
To enter data into and extract data from Careflow as required.
Management of RTT and pathways.
Covering the Senior Medical Secretaries during leave.
