Senior Clinical Fellow - Cardiology

Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at the University Hospitals of the North Midlands.

The successful candidate will join a team of 12 middle grade doctors and 27 consultant cardiologist's supporting services in this large tertiary cardiac centre.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected to join the registrar on call rota, currently 1:12. In order to delver this it is essential that the appointee is competent to perform and report emergency echocardiography. In addition, there is a responsibility to deliver to inpatient services, supporting the three dedicated cardiology wards, including a 13 bed coronary care unit. There will be opportunities to join consultant led outpatient clinics,

The unit has a strong track record in the delivery of training and education. The successful candidate will be supported with dedicated training time in their chosen sub-specialty area. The following are currently available:

Imaging ( including ECHO, CT and MRI)

Heart Failure

Pacing and Devices

Electrophysiology

Please note, that due to current commitments, the department will not be accepting applications from candidates wishing to sub-specialise in PCI or structural intervention, including TAVI.
