Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for Band 2 and Band 3 roles. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Neonatal Unit Team at UHNM.

This role is unique to the NICU and will require candidates to be supportive and empathetic, as we work together, to support babies and families through their individual neonatal journey.

Main duties of the job

Support all elements of the Family Integrated Care Pathway

Provide bedside support for babies and families, with specific focus on breast feeding, parentcraft and empowering parents to be partners in care

To provide direct care, whilst working alongside trained nursing colleagues, to pre-term and term infants within all 4 Neonatal clinical areas

Job responsibilities

The primary role of a Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team; in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person-centred care.

The Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and well-being of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion. They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses. Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Workers should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM. They will be required to undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.

Key to this role is flexibility with the requirement for staff to work variable shifts over 7 days a week on a week by week basis within agreed limits.
