Job summary
Are you a dietitian who wishes to further consolidate their practice in surgical dietetics? UHNM is a specialist centre for many surgical specialties, you will have the opportunity to work with different surgical patients which will include Head and Neck cancer, Upper GI procedures within general surgical wards and our Surgical special care unit. This will include complex parenteral nutrition.
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at University Hospitals of North Midlands is looking to recruit a dietitian to work in the acute hospital, supporting services across its sites of Royal Stoke and County Hospital, the post holder will primarily be based at the Royal Stoke site, working within the surgical dietetic team. We welcome applicants who have surgical clinical experience and wish to further develop their practice and will be supported with professional development. A Non medical prescribing qualification would be an advantage or the desire to study for this qualification.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with a team dietitians in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, they will link with the adult acute team on both hospital sites and across the wider Adult acute team which includes dietitians working within critical care, trauma, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, Oncology, Gastroenterology, respiratory, general medicine, older adults and Stroke services. We have a department of over 60 dietitians, dietetic assistants, apprentice dietitians and admin support.
The post is ideal for a dietitian wishing to develop their clinical expertise, we have a good track record in advancing our dietitians into specialities and supporting career aspirations.
