Band 3 Medical Laboratory Assistant (Virology)
37.5hrs per week
The University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts form the North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service, a pathology network formed in line with an NHSI directive.
We are looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to work within our Virology department.
The post holder will be required to perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks within Pathology following Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including the Pathology Quality Policy, to provide clerical and technical support to Biomedical Scientists in order to ensure a high quality service in all areas of the relevant Pathology Discipline.

- Good standard of Education demonstrated by GCSEs or equivalent (in Maths, English and a Science subject)
- Relevant NVQ level 2 or equivalent

- NVQ level 3 in Clinical Laboratory Support

- Basic level of theoretical technical knowledge of the role
- Awareness of Health and Safety matters

- Previous experience of working in a Laboratory environment
