Average of 37.5 hours/week across a 7-day working rota (with a maximum weekend commitment of 1 in 4) plus On-Call Duty as required by department

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infectious Diseases team at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) to work alongside a well-respected and experienced antimicrobial stewardship team including Microbiologists and Infectious diseases physicians. You will be an experienced clinical pharmacist, able to demonstrate an ability to deliver high-quality care for patients and demonstrating a passion for optimising the use of antimicrobials, especially antifungal agents, across a range of clinical specialties at a large teaching Trust.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with Consultants, nursing staff, pharmacy colleagues and the directorate management team, you will support the optimal use of antimicrobials across the Trust. You will work closely with the Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner - Infections and Antimicrobial Stewardship and other members of the AMS team to provide a high-quality clinical service and provide clinical, financial, and risk management support in the context of antimicrobials, leading on the use of antifungals at the Trust. You will also provide specialist clinical input to support the surgical team.

You will contribute to the strategic development of the AMS service and work closely with members of the stewardship MDT to develop guidelines, support MDT working across a number of specialties including close collaboration with Infection Prevention practitioners and contribute to local and national research opportunities around optimising antimicrobial prescribing and the role of the AMS team.

This role, as with all our Advanced Pharmacist posts, has the responsibility of supervising diploma students and managing junior staff.
