Job summary
The Assistant Cancer Patient Pathway Co-ordinator role is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in the NHS. The role is suitable for recent school leavers, graduates or undergraduates with good computer literacy. NHS experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. Informal chats about the role are strongly encouraged including an option to meet the team.
Main duties of the job
The role of an Assistant Co-ordinator within the cancer services team is to ensure accurate and timely data collection and escalation against cancer patient pathways. The Assistant Co-ordinators work alongside Cancer Patient Pathway Co-ordinators and liaise with members of the MDT to facilitate effective MDT meetings, accurate recording of data, and ensure appropriate communication between individuals and departments involved in the management of cancer patient pathways. They are expected to cover the other Assistant Patient Pathway Co-ordinators in times of absences, and be a crucial part of the ongoing management of cancer data with ever changing requirements.
