Job summary
Due to our innovative and evolving acute medicine service we have been successful in a new business case which is focused on the nursing workforce on AMU (Acute Medical Unit) at UHNM, allowing us to open up our recruitment of a large number of nursing posts. Our AMU at UHNM is one of the largest units in the country consisting of 58 beds comprising of bay beds, side rooms and 14 Higher monitoring beds which is in our enhanced nursing care area delivering level 1 and 2 care. The business case supports the uplift of our substantial qualified nursing team to enable us to have a 1:4 patient ratio which will enable the unit to continue to move onto the next exciting chapter and evolving our new team to become the showcase ' gold standard' of AMU's in England.
Our new starters are supported by our exceptional practice education team, who have developed a competency package for the unit and the enhanced care element. We aim to provide staff of all grades with the essential knowledge and skills required in our busy, friendly department and we offer a rotation on a shift by shift basis into the enhanced care unit where you will be supported by our team and education practise nurses. New starters will be given a period of supernumerary time with a well organised local induction.
Main duties of the job
In this post you will be responsible for the initial assessment of patients, and providing an effective care pathway within AMU. We are committed to developing a culture in line with our values that improves quality and enhances the patient experience, and you will play a vital part in developing new ways of working to achieve this goal.
Candidates will be a first level registered nurse. You must be flexible to the demands of the service and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication skills are essential for this post.Full and part time hours, are available, 7 days including weekends and public holidays, 12 hour shifts.
36/37.5 hour contracts available.
