Training Fellow in Acute Medicine (ST1/2 Level) Applications are invited for Training fellows (ST1 Level) in Acute Medicine. The Trust is a University Teaching Hospital with its own Medical School and has a newly built Academic Complex. We have modern diagnostic facilities and have been substantially expanding our current acute medical services through a multi-million pound investment including a brand new state of the art Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) centre at the RSUH site.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
You must have wide experience in General (Internal) Medicine and be comfortable in the initial assessment and on-going treatment of acutely ill adult medical patients with a wide variety of pathology. You will at all times work under direct Consultant supervision and within a dedicated team across our areas of the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Short Stay Unit (SSU), AEC as well as our newly created pioneering Acute Medical Rapid Assessment (AMRA) service which is embedded within the Emergency Department.

Our specialised services include cancer diagnosis and treatment, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, renal and dialysis services, neonatal intensive care and paediatric intensive care. We are recognised for our particular expertise in trauma, respiratory conditions, spinal surgery, upper gastro-intestinal surgery, complex orthopaedic surgery, laparoscopic surgery and the management of liver conditions. The Trust has some of the most modern operating theatres in Europe.
