Job summary
The North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service (NMPCS) is a network providing Pathology services to the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust, and East Cheshire NHS Trust.
The network is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to lead Pathology IT. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for someone to help shape and deliver next generation pathology digital services and contribute to service transformation at scale.
The network is expected to expand to include Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust (SaTH) after which there is an expectation that the post holder will also have line management responsibilities for the SaTH Pathology IT team.
The post holderwill be expected to provide technical expertise across Pathology digital systems and provide management and leadership to the Pathology IT team. They will lead and support the development and maintenance of the Pathology IT solutions across NMCPS. The post-holder will have extensive clinical systems management experience and will lead on the development of the Pathology digital systems roadmap to improve both clinical and operational processes to support divisional objectives.
The network is currently at the latter stages of implementing a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as well as a new Digital Pathology solution.
The post holder will be part of the NMCPS Senior management team and will report professionally to UHNM Trust IT.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead and support the development and maintenance of the Pathology IT solutions across the N8 Pathology network. They will develop and manage the resource levels, skills and abilities of the Pathology IT team required to sustain the efficient, economic and effective activity of the network.
