Weekly Working Pattern:37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 6pm.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and flexible individual to join the UHNM Patient Transport Booking Office Team as a full time Patient Transport Team Leader.
You will be working directly for the Head of Patient Transport assisting in the day to day operational management of the UHNM Patient Transport Services and will be responsible for the daily management of the Patient Transport Booking Office Team and it's booking and management systems.
Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES
Assists in the overall management of the Patient Transport Booking Office Staff & operational day to day management of Non-Emergency & High Dependency Patient Transport Services (NEPTS) across two sites and Patient Transport Booking Office
Communicating with Trust staff, contractors, patients and relatives. NHS and Private Ambulance Service Contractors local and out of area. Taxi Contractors. Divisional Management Teams, Integrated Care Boards (ICB's) and Combined Health Care management teams. General Practitioners and members of the general public, Bed and Site Managers

Job responsibilities
- Assists & Deputises for the Head of Patient Transport in the overall management for Non-Emergency & High Dependency Patient Transport Services (NEPTS) across two sites and Patient Transport Booking Office.
- Supports, facilitates and monitors progress of NEPTS within and across site(s).
- Supports performance improvement.
- Manages a team of Patient Transport Service (PTS) Booking Office staff, providing support and rota cover as and when required.
- The post holder will operationally assist with managing the provision of Non-Emergency & High Dependency Patient Transport Services for UHNM, CHC Local Health Economy ICBs and MPFT, reporting by exception.
- To assist the Head of Patient Transport for the contracted Patient Transport providers operational delivery and performance management against contracted standards and taking the necessary action in partnership to ensure standards are met.
- To monitor the service against contract standards, taking action to resolve issues and achieve sustained improvement.
- To assist in the line management of the booking office clerical staff to achieve departmental and directorate objectives and ensure the provision of an effective booking service for the local health economy.
- To ensure delivery against Service Level Agreement standards for the provision of the Patient Transport Booking Office.
- To assist in ensuring effective communication to the workforce of UHNM and maintaining awareness of the service standards and ensuring a mechanism for regular feedback from staff on their perception of the service.
- To operationally assist the Head of Patient Transport on tendering processes in relation to Non-Emergency and High Dependency Patient Transport Services ensuring safe, efficient and streamlined service transition.
- To develop and maintain effective communication and good working relationships with all users of the Patient Transport Service, including external health care organisations and relevant stakeholders.
- Deputies for the Head of Patient Transport being the first point of contact for the operational day to day management of patient transport contracts and services.
- To assist in performance management of contracted standards.
- To liaise with site managers to ensure that they are informed of any operational issues that may affect patient flow.
- To ensure there are systems in place to ensure an effective booking service .
- To assist the Head of Patient Transport to set up and review systems to ensure the effective in and out of hours management of patient transport requirements.
- To respond to transport related complaints and to investigate and prepare background information to adverse incidents for response by the Head of Patient Transport, LHE ICBs, CHC & MPFT as requested.
