Job summary

We are welcoming applicants for the role of Senior OD Consultant to join our OD, Culture & Inclusion team.

The successful post holder will undertake a strategic role in supporting UHNM to develop and implement a robust programme of Organisational Development & Design (OD). Leading on OD Consultancy and embedding a business partner approach to collaborate with our divisions to deliver our People Strategy aims and cultural improvement plans.

You will be a credible, experienced professional who can evidence significant experience of consulting with and facilitating senior stakeholders in identifying areas requiring OD support and develop appropriate data driven, business focussed, action plans to improve culture, performance and team effectiveness.

You will provide effective leadership and line management of our OD Consultant team (supported by the Assistant Director of OD). Ensuring they are fully supported to deliver on our priorities, people strategy domains, action plans, divisional consultancy and individual lead portfolios.

A key element of this role will be to evaluate the 'impact and value 'of OD ensuring baseline metrics are captured through the diagnostics and contracting phases of the OD cycle and to ensure our solutions are outcome focussed and demonstrate return on effort.

Main duties of the job

This is a key senior leadership position within the OD, Culture & Inclusion team and wider People Directorate. It is expected that the post holder will have the ability to articulate and create a culture of OD and learning at all levels, gaining co-operation and commitment throughout the Trust and with wider system partners.

The successful post holder will undertake a strategic role leading on OD Consultancy and embedding a business partner approach to collaborate with our divisions to deliver our People Strategy aims and cultural improvement plans.

Develop effective relationships with colleagues in our divisions/corporate areas to influence and support service delivery and align activity to our people agenda, establishing credibility as an expert in strategic OD matters within an operational service.

Lead the implementation of aligned OD solutions ensuring a consistent approach is taken utilising diagnostics and our comprehensive toolkit of OD solutions.

You will deputise for the Assistant Director of OD as required, including operational management and taking delegated responsibility at meetings and events.

Support the Deputy Chief People Officer & Assistant Director of OD by undertaking specific projects aligned to our People Strategy to ensure the delivery of a professional and high quality people function.

You will be an approachable, kind and competent individual; driven to achieve success with the ability to influence, motivate and think at a strategic level.

  • Masters or equivalent demonstrable experience in an OD Consultant/Practitioner role
  • Specific OD practitioner accreditation (any): insights, MBTi, Hogan, Sova, 360 facilitation, ALS
  • ILM L5 Coaching accreditation or equivalent experience in Coaching at a senior level
  • Evidence of CPD activity undertaken in areas relevant to the remit of this role

  • Occupational/Psychometric qualification

  • Extensive experience of implementation of OD Cycle, diagnostics, designing and delivering a range of OD interventions/solutions
