Are you interested in training as a Sonographer?
Would you like to undertake a new apprenticeship programme supported by UHNM in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University ?
The Imaging Directorate is excited to offer an apprentice Sonographer post starting in March 2024 for a 3 year fixed term training period.
You must have sound knowledge of Sonography as a career and have understanding of the regulatory bodies and expected requirements to practice.
The successful applicant will work within the UHNM Imaging Ultrasound team, working at multiple locations including Royal Stoke Hospital, County Hospital and our smaller community sites to support your training.
Main duties of the job
You will gain extensive workplace learning and practice in Obstetric, General Abdominal and Gynaecological Ultrasound scanning, this will be supported by academic learning at Sheffield Hallam University, leading to a BSc (Hons) in Medical Ultrasound. You can view information about the programme on the University website. Programme fees will be supported by the trust.
To apply you must have recent relevant experience within a health care setting, preferably within an Imaging department. It is essential that you have explored sonography as a career and have a sound knowledge of the registration and and have visited the department prior to application.
An aptitude (hand-eye coordination) test will be completed as part of the selection process.
