We are currently recruiting for LAS FY2 Posts in emergency medicine. The posts will be based at our Stoke site working to support the junior rotas.
Full time fixed term posts from 06/12/2023 to 02/08/2024. These posts are not recognised as a formal training slot. However, the training opportunities will be the same as the other FY2's.
Main duties of the job
Main duties and responsibilities
- Initial clerking, assessment, diagnosis and management of all patients admitted.
- Management of all patients on the wards, and any outlying wards.
- Referral of patients to other specialities.
- Necessary emergency investigation e.g. blood samples for crossmatch, emergency X-ray etc.
- Appropriate discharge of patients, either:
- Admission to inpatient facilities
- Discharge with suitable follow-up at the hospital
- Discharge to General practition

Essential
- MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC registration
- ALS
Desirable
- Awards/distinctions whilst studying for 1st degree
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Foundation Year One programme or clear demonstration of equivalent experience
- 1 year in a substantive post within the UK (6 months in A & E acceptable) or clear demonstration of equivalent experience elsewhere
- Evidence of safe, sound clinical practices
Desirable
- Additional a&e experience
