Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within University Hospitals of North Midlands Trust (UHNM), Catering Services. As a well-led, high-performing and innovative organisation working in the best interests of the people we serve, we are looking to appoint an individual who can demonstrate excellent day to day leadership, innovation and communications skills to manage the Catering Services in the County Hospital site with overarching responsibility of Catering compliance within our Royal Stoke site also. A previous track record of successfully delivering a high standard of service provision and budgetary control within a catering environment is essential.
Reporting into the Deputy/Head of Facilities , the Catering Lead will form part of the senior Estates and Facilities Management Team who will be responsible for delivering high quality and professional Catering Services across UHNM
Main duties of the job
Supervise and take responsibility for staff to produce and prepare food items for patient, staff and visitor requirements at County Hospital using and creating standard recipes within the agreed budget and resources.
Responsible for the supervision of the County Head Chef & County Retail Manager and teams in relation to their daily duties, patient meal services and hygiene related duties within the County Catering Department. To work in conjunction with the restaurant staff for the provision of meals for staff and visitors. To take responsibility for the completion of appropriately assigned staff appraisals and on the job training when necessary. To liaise with the clinical teams any catering related issues where appropriate. Complete various audits within the County Catering Department and Catering Support Assistant activities at ward level.
To provide support; technical direction; audit; governance, compliance & assurance for County Catering Department, Royal Stoke Retained Catering Service; and Royal Stoke Sodexo Catering Services.
To be the "Catering Responsible Person" for all Catering Services across both County & Royal Stoke County Hospital sites.
All duties must be carried out in accordance with the Food Safety policy EF03, Departmental Operational Manual and Health and Safety legislation and in line with all other Trust policies and EHO guidance.
