Job summary
You will have responsibility for the development and on-going maintenance and monitoring of the Trust Data Warehouse and BI Systems.
Within the team you will be developing a new Cloud hosted Data warehouse and reporting platform.
You will build ETL processes from multiple clinical systems with feeds into Trust Data Warehouse.
Through effective communication with staff at all levels, you will interpret needs into report enabling solutions. Data will be transformed into functional data models (star schema). You will be familiar with Kimball data modelling approach.
Sufficiently skilled across various reporting vehicles including PowerBi and SSRS, you will produce of reports, dashboards and visualisations.
Highly developed specialist knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and associated tools (SSIS / SSAS).
Support in all areas of data warehouse development. You will be 1st line in support and rectification of impactful database issues. Familiar with Activity Monitor, stored procedures and TSQL coding as well as optimisation via indexes and other DBA and performance considerations and pitfalls.
Monitoring internal IT calls logged to Team and action various requests from our users.
Act as "data expert" in multiple Trust and IM&T projects. An example might include provision of data and associated expertise to enable clinical system upgrades or implementation of new Trust systems.

Main duties of the job
You will have responsibilities for the development and on-going maintenance and monitoring of the Trust Data Warehouse and BI Systems.
You will be working within a team leading in the specification, development and implementation of a Hybrid on-premise and Azure cloud Data warehouse and reporting platform.
This embodies development of standardised ETL processes from multiple source systems into the Trust Data Warehouse.Data warehouse will present data through conformed stars based on Kimball principals of which you should be conversant.
There will be some needs for Report, Dashboards and Data Visualisations development.
As a developer, you will be highly IT technical and have sufficient specialist knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server to build effective systems and processes. Knowledge of SSIS, SSAS, TSQL, DBA and performance considerations is a minimum for post. Knowledge in the Azure platform and tools such as PowerApps would greatly benefit.
You will support in all areas of data warehouse management and development including but not limited to: new data feeds, data quality, IG considerations, remedy of issues, permissions management, user support and requests.
We would expect team working and a proactive attitude in developing own and team skills with aims on extending services offered to the Trust.
