University Hospital for a dynamic and motivated Childrens Nurse.Staffordshire Childrens Hospital at Royal Stoke University Hospital sits within the University Hospital of the North Midlands NHS acute Trust, which serves the population of Stoke-on Trent, Staffordshire and beyond, with both local and specialist tertiary services.
Following a successful application, monies have been awarded to the Children's High Dependency Unit at SCH at RSUH to increase the bed base.The Children's High Dependency Unit (CHDU) is a 4 bedded unit which will increase to 6 beds with regional funding, supporting admissions from the Emergency portals of the Children's Emergency Department and Children's Assessment Unit alongside Elective admissions. The delivery of a sleep diagnostic service is undertaken within CHDU.The unit is supported by the child health multi-disciplinary team working in partnership with Paediatricians, Medical teams, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Allied Health teams.
Main duties of the job
The role of the band 5 Children's Nurse within CHDU is to assess develop, implement and evaluate nursing care needs of children and families/carers in order to provide and maintain a high standard of informed and effective holistic care.
To rotate to other clinical areas as requested, to meet the demands of the service and fulfil professional educational needs.
